I was diagnosed with minor shermanns disease in 2016, which basically means I had kyphosis but not too bad. In 2017 I saw a dr in New York named dr Lenke. He told me my curve was very bad and that surgery was required to fix it. To be clear I didn’t have any pain or anything like that I just looked a little hunched. I was young and stupid and I thought doctors knew everything so I agreed to this minor surgery. Long story short they freaking fused my spine using 32 titanium screws, two long bars and bone graft. It’s a completely ridiculous surgery. It’s like treating the flu with a nuclear bomb. Long story short my spine doesn’t move anymore, I’m depressed and sad most days and don’t leave my bed anymore. I feel disabled.

The weight isn’t the problem, it’s the muscle mass. Stuff like that can get in the way.

I've stayed flexible without trying since I was a kid. I did dance starting at 18mo & then got into competitions at age 5, kept going until 13. Thankfully I've stayed pretty damn flexible, minutes my thighs....cann't do the splits anymore & doing kart wheels hurtsssss 😅

I could use help, so desperately. For the past two years I've been unable to lose weight, even eating at a huge calorie deficit. Working out doesn't help either. Blood work seems fairly normal (happy to share with someone willing to genuinely help tho!) it's just been a very difficult, disappointing & disheartening past few years. My Dr genuinely wants to help but he's pretty lost as well, he thinks maybe weight loss meds will be the only way when I'm not sure I want to go that route. I just want help 😢 I'm tired of being so tired

Whether the curve is bad or not, I found that doing deadlifts and rows corrected it. Wasn't trying to, but it was a positive side effect.

There are studies that correlate bad posture and back problems though. Youre cherry picking data. Age and physical fitness are a contributing factor. The more you sit out of alignment, the more degradation in muscle and tendons can occur, especially when there are contributing medical factors. Theres a reason America is the OG #1 for back and alignment issues. We’re a lazy FK society because we use all our good brain and energy time to slave away for Corps making 35% a living wage. You can source this argument very easily if you know wtf youre doing. Health and fitness is not a binary, its not dunce politics. All the details matter. If you focus on sitting up straight all the time your muscles will build themselves, especially your core. Mindfulness of sitting correctly and learning how your muscle groups stabilize will do wonders for back pain. I got bad genetics and family history of weak backs, but Ive cured it by just being mindful of my posture and bot sitting and slouching in ways that exerts more gravity on the lower back. Bad posture and sitting in ways that stress smaller areas of the back are absolutely contribute to back problems. This dudes science is a little quackery. Its not fully formed research, its more like right wing cherry picking studies that arent really recognized by scientific peer review. Thats where medical journals and all the brain oversight happens. I like Bad posture can be a contributor to male impotence as well. Bad alignment can cause degradation of blood vessels that flow to the junks. This is why yoga is the king of good health and why all animals do it instinctively. Stretching the fiber and veins opens everything up for better flow. Not the woo woo hippy energy fields. Thats all just an analogy of what it does for the physical body inside and at a microscopic level. I like his workouts, but I dont like the half ass science. Find any female with a D-cup and ask her is slouching leads to lower back pain. All that force has to go somewhere. Its just basic physics. When the force cannot be spread across the community of muscles made to support it, one group takes on more mass than it was built to handle. Genetics plays a role as well, some people have amazing genes and their bones and muscles will fortify to pick up the slack, but alas, they are the minority of genes expression. Unfortunately European incest for centuries has its drawbacks for all Caucasian descendants and the Iberian/Spanish they all descend from. A lot of recessive mutated genetics cuz royals and Lords didnt want their skin to look working class. They knew by practice that incest mating lightened skin shades, what they did not know is it was breaking any dominant melanin genes that are crucial for all cellular health around the body. Ashkenazi European groups also share these same mass of recessive genes, but they are far worse because of the religious orthodoxy that lead to so much more close relation incest. I study genetic history, its FKin weird how they screwed us for generations. The whole pseudoscience Eugenicist made Race system is still a contributing factor in all this. Its never changed since Hitler credited it for his idea. You’d think it would have been abolished when science of genes and ethnicity proved its all bullshit to separate shades of skin color by visual judgement. Its also a root factor in todays extremist political landscape.

many physicians, family, friends, colleagues, with a lot of pain everywhere... : "Don't move too much, you'll hurt yourself". Me, doing nothing, getting my neck and back locked in pain for years. Me, suddenly carrying, pushing and pulling loads of hundreds of kg for weeks on end with a posture considered "dangerous" - rounded lower back in particular - realizing that all these postures considered dangerous were in fact just an irrational belief. And in fact, science confirms it.

85% of published scientific research reaches the wrong conclusion. Never take a them at their word, methodology and raw data are critical to understanding the reality of something. I find occam's razor is actually a much better way to approach a problem, and if something sounds too ridiculous to be true, it probably is...most of the time.

Was just wondering about my pisture and u pop up! Love love your videos! The way u keep moving. Just subscribed tonite and look forward to trying out your flexies tomorrow. Always been super flexible (68 year female) was in bad auto accident 4 years ago and quit my super active job and had to retire. Bad back over 20 years which has gotten worse, but now in middle of back instead of low. Injured it somehow moving. Know how important it is to stretch especially when you're older. So going to do your stuff, u make it look so fun! Thank you!

Yeah, eds sucks, I also have it and I just keep getting injured, bruising, and cant walk because my knees and ankles will just give out, I I cant pop most parts of my back because there isn't enough give, and I can impale myself with my shoulders & ribs (I also cant do any of the things that guy can do bc I havent trained to do it, which is a thing, my dad has stretchier skin then me bc he frequently pulls it out as a party trick)
