Im 31 I was a dancer and extremely flexible and active.. when i was a kid/teenager. I fell into opiod/alcohol addiction and suffered a lot of pain Fast forward 2 years of sobriety and 5 months in the gym and the difference is huge Its helped so much with pain

The reason muscle is rebuilt so fast is “muscle memory” (the *_actual meaning_* of the phrase, not the colloquial use related to learning a skill). Your muscles have myonuclei in them. Exercise increases the amount of myonuclei you have, and the size of your contractile tissue increases. (It also changes your epigenetics but that’s too deep for a YT comment). When you lose muscle after a period of not exercising, the myonuclei stick around for a long time. Several years at least. Possibly over 20 in some instances. Though they can be lost eventually, or from some degenerative diseases Since you don’t have to build new myonuclei once you start working out again, all that’s left is storing new protein in your muscle cells.

I adore this energy and same ❤ I still read books in the trees as climb them and run around the yard doing flips etc not just block jogging 😂 Playing baseball any sport and it keeps the mind stronger as its made to be too to stay active. Facts. Just thinking for our selves. Theres nothing wrong with being a different flow than this world. Its a privilege. So run that mile, dance when you want, be adventurous, be that inner child until you cant again. ❤

I did some yoga while waiting at the airport, and was genuinely appalled at how people werent even inspired to stretch their neck or arms ... It was a sad realization to be there for three hours and be the only person I saw move.
You can increase weight but can't change muscle flexibility.
